以色列环保标章基于基于以色列标准SI 1738制订，而该标准本身基于欧盟指令880/92拟定。由以色列标准协会与环境保护部合作颁发之标准，以色列环保标章提供了一个产品的环境质量相对于其他同类产品的整体评估，可证明产品对于环境的危害较小。
带有绿色卷标的产品或服务减少了有害物质的使用，提高了能源效率等等。
以色列标准学会是国际eco labelling组织的成员。因此以色列环保标章可能可以在国际上被承认。

2. 收到以色列标准协会之报价单之后，确认没问题则批准及签名
3. 将产品或服务提供给以色列标准协会审核
4. 若有必要需将产品或服务提供给实验室进行测试
5. 若审核结果为产品有需改善之部分，则厂商需提供纠正措施
